Tam bir film tutkunu olan Neil (Cillian Murphy) aynı zamanda bir Video dükkanının da sahibidir. Neil, kendi hayatını baştan sona sanki bir filmde rol alıyormuşcasına yaşamaktan çok keyif alır. Ancak günün birinde gerçekten de tehlikeli ve bir o kadar da baştan çıkarıcı Violet (Lucy Liu) ile tanıştığında dünyası tersine döner ve gerçek dünya ile film dünyası arasındaki çizgi bulanıklaşmaya başlar. Artık Neil’in hayatının gerçekten hareketlenmesinin ve sürekli bir maceraya dönüşmesinin zamanı gelmiştir.
